Description

Hey ya'll! :)
I didn't expected to see butterflies here, in the desert. They just made my day while I watch them flying around one bush of flowers a whole day.
I know it's a bit different (colors) from what I usually post, as I said before laptop display is killing me, anyway I decided to give it a try :)

Location: Tikrit, Iraq

Nikon D70s, AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm DX

Beautiful butterfly and colors. I might crop this into a landscape format instead of the square one as the background tends to take some of the attention away from the butterfly. A good colorful image!

Wow, this is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a while now
Awesome colours and details
I agree it's a bit busey though

Nice scene and good focus on the Butterfly. I might have moved the butterfly a bit closer to center and cloned out a couple of the flowers (top left and bottom right). The photo seems over-saturated on my monitor.

Beautiful butterfly!

The flower is a bit distracting and so is the background imho.

Agree with Gary's suggestion on trying a tighter portrait format instead.

Nice work..... background is a bit distracting, and portrait format would likely be more effective, but still very nice work.

Thanks everyone for comments!
I couldn't do anything about background, that little bush with flowers is growing on a wall made of dirt (HESCO) and I tried to avoid showing wires which are holding all dirt in place :) so I'm very satisfied with background. But I completely understand all your suggestions, and agree with them, this shot could be better in better conditions.
Thanks! ;)

The backround actually fits well with the rest of the 'mess', which works well in this picture. I like this image, including the high saturation, though I think the whit balance is incorrect.

Thanks! ;)
I like it more on warmer side, it gives a photo a feeling of heat and dust I'm surrounded with :) Cooler means greener, tried it and it looks good but decided to go with this one.

Those are some fantastic colors! The butterfly's beautifully captured. I do feel the background kind of steals too much of the attention, but on the other hand it doesn't really ruin the visual impact of the image. Sort of just gives it a more abstract look.
In any case, I like it!
